I really should be better about writing on this. I have been so busy trying to produce YouTube content that I have kind of let the writing lapse. I am going to try do this all! Maybe I need to change this to a weekly blog.
On the way home from the ONF last week, Stacey started to misfire and rumble a bit. I have been suspecting spark plugs for a little while. My guess is that Stace has a bad plug in it, and that is what tripped my Check Engine Light. I did have it checked at an O'Riley's, and it was throwing the P0430 code. Thats the catalyldic converters though. I'm thinking that the spark plug caused a misfire and that sent too much emissions into the exhaust and plugged my cats. We will see. I have an appointment in the next couple of days to get her looked at and hopefully fixed before next weekend. I will have to replace the catalyldic converts as well, but I'm hoping I can put that off for a little bit.
Since Stacey is out of commission for this weekend, I spent the day today making a couple of videos for the channel. I was forced to do shoot them in the back yard because Stacey is having to head into the shop. They were a little challenging. I was battling time, and weather as well as trying to find time to relax.
Next week should be better. We will be heading to the northern area of the Pacific Ranger District of the Olympic National Forest. Loz's mother Becky, will be up visiting and heading to The NW Orchid Society's Native Orchid Conference. Becky has a great eye for the plants with the petals, and has the knowledge to boot. I have a blast every time that I am able to tag along on an adventure with her. Becky and Loz are currently someplace in Wyoming traveling back to the PNW via Flora the Explorer. (Becky's Camper Van)

I am really looking forward to getting up there to the northern part of the ONF since I do not get up there a lot. It is quite a ways away from where we are located, and it's kind of a boring drive. I'm not saying that I5 south to Olympia is amazing, that is also boring. But when you get out past that, into to Black Hills and Capitol Forest area, does it get pretty. There are also some interesting sites as well. I haven't been able to get any good pictures yet, but the Satsop Nuclear Site's cooling towers paint a stark image on the beautiful landscape. When I see them, I am reminded of the power that we as humans hold, and how we have to think about our fellow animal brothers and sisters when we are deciding about our energy needs. They are soon in our rear view mirrors. Only a few more miles until Aberdeen, Hoqiuam, and Al's Hum-Dinger.
Heading north on Highway 16 is much more populated. I am happy knowing that if there is something that I forgot I can stop and grab it. There are plenty of your every day restaurants, but nothing to write home about that I have found yet. It's just a little bit of driving until you get past the Hood Canal Bridge and into Discovery Bay that it actually becomes a little less city and a little more town. I am hoping that I will be able to get out and change my mind a little bit on this. But that all depends on Stacey. I am crossing my fingers that it's just spark plugs and not something more!
Since Stacey is going to need some work, and gas prices haven't gone down like I thought they would, we are having to postpone our Pizza Trip. It's okay though. The planning that I had done doesn't change anything and I can pick it right back up again. Instead we are looking at staying close to home. I have been wanting to head to a different climate. That has been my goal for most of our trips. With our trip being in August or July, we are going to have to think about wildfires and the heat. South Dakota is terrible in August and July. Not to mention Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. Don't get me started about that. I can tell you that the fall is a much better time to visit. Lets see if I can convince Loz!!
Until then, I will have to come up with a different plan. I'm thinking either Colorado, or Canada. The Danes might be an interesting time getting into Canada, but we will cross that boarder when it happens!
Until next time,
Mikey J
